Sometimes, you just need a little humor to get through the grind of yearbook deadlines. One of my favorite ways to add some fun (and a good laugh) is by experimenting with AI image generation. Recently, I decided to imagine what life would look like if I were turned into my own action figure—complete with accessories that only a yearbook advisor would appreciate.

The result? A photorealistic action figure, packaged like a real toy, but filled with inside jokes from the yearbook world. Think pink packaging, cameras, laptops, senior quotes, and of course—warnings about parent complaints.

The best part? You can make your own version too. All you need is:

  • An AI image generator (such as DALL·E, MidJourney, or Stable Diffusion)

  • A reference photo of yourself (or whoever you want to turn into the action figure)

  • A clear, well-structured prompt

The Prompt

Here’s the exact prompt I used. You can copy and paste this into your favorite AI generator, then attach your reference photo to guide the AI in making the action figure look like you:

Create a photorealistic image of an action figure in a pink blister-pack hanging on the end cap of a store aisle among other products. The figure should be full-body, visible through the largest window, with a face matching the attached reference photo. Include three smaller accessory windows with a camera, Stanley Cup, and laptop. The packaging should have a bold title at the top: “Yearbook Advisor Action Figure.” Add a tagline beneath: “Overworked, underpaid, on verge of collapse.” Place additional copy on the package: “Haunted by senior quotes and Oxford commas.” Add a product warning in one corner: “Unreasonable requests and parent complaints included.”

Tips for Best Results

  • Attach a clear photo of yourself where your face is easy to see.

  • Experiment with style options—some platforms let you toggle between photorealistic, cartoon, or digital illustration styles.

  • Tweak the colors or accessories to better fit your personality or inside jokes.

  • Save multiple versions—AI rarely gets it perfect the first try, but often the “happy accidents” are the funniest.

My Results

Doesn't really look like me, but I was happy with it!
