Theme Play It Back

Play It Back brought the year to life through a vibrant music and showmanship theme, built on the idea that the yearbook is like an album you can replay to hear the top hits again. The staff leaned into the energy of live performance and tracklists, crafting a design that felt candid, colorful, and full of culture.

Sections carried playful titles like Cue the Music and Lights, Camera, Action, and dividers tied the theme together by introducing a “track” that captured the spirit of that section. Each divider carried the same cohesive style, ensuring the theme stayed consistent while still feeling fresh and exciting.

Visually, the book exploded with vibrant, playful colors that reflected the “live and in color” tagline—bold spreads that mirrored the energy of a concert stage. It was a design that celebrated spontaneity and spirit while maintaining polish and balance.

The result was a book that was not only fun and unforgettable but also nationally recognized, earning Best of Publication honors for the staff’s efforts.
